Description: This auction is for a pair of antique late 18th century horse swamp/bog shoes. These were hand-made from wood with hand-forged metal fittings. These types of shoes were primarily worn by horses working in the cranberry type bogs, or just poor swampy land in general. This pair appears to have been made by 2 different people, as the designs are a bit different. However, one can tell they have many hours of field work worn into them. These make great conversation pieces or interesting room decor. Thanks for looking and please check out our store for more great finds!!!
