Description: Description Antique French sterling silver flatware service housed in a fitted presentation box. Comprising of 12 forks and 12 spoons for luncheon or dessert. The handles are decorated with Art Nouveau peony blossoms and stylized leaves. Spoons are 7 1/2" length. Forks are 7 7/16" length. Total silver weight is 1202.5 grams. Box measures 10 1/4" x 8 1/4" x 2" height. The set is hallmarked with the French Minerve 1st standard mark, which guaranteed the finest quality French sterling silver of .950/1000 purity in use from 1838 (95% pure silver and a higher grade than the standard .925 for sterling). Maker's marks for Parisian silversmith Alphonse Debain, active from 1883-1911 at 79 rue du Temple, Paris.
