Antique French Bronzed Figural Maiden & Flower Lamp “moissonneur” By L Guillemin

Description: Re-listed due to a bulb upgrade. This lamp is now fitted with 3 NOS vintage bulbs in the style that would have been originally used. They were taken out of the original packaging & put right in the lamp. Should have only 15 minutes of use from testing on them, and are included. This listing is for a gorgeous Antique French Bronzed Figural Maiden &Flower Lamp “moissonneur” By L. Guillemin. Signed on the base area of the statue itself by L. Guillemin; attributed to Émile Coriolan Hippolyte Guillemin (French, 1841-1907)- who’s name I will be eternally jealous of. On the hand marbled wooden base it is titled “moissonneur” via a brass plaque, this is a french word roughly for someone who harvests corn. I believe this is in reference to the maiden herself, meaning she is some kind of fairytale beautiful farm hand. It may be part of a local folktale as well. It features a nicely sized statue of this maiden with great details, and 3 branching leafy / flowing “vines” which support & contain the 3 lights. The impressive triple socket design is excellent for many rooms and a large variety of decor styles. It makes this an excellent staple piece for your collection, one your friends definitely won’t have! My initial thought was to replace these bulbs with vintage or repro floral neon ones (like aerolux bulbs) - which would be a great accent piece. A great collectors item, for use display gifting or decor. It is in good condition, with no major damage. It has some wear, as expected for a piece of its age. I believe she used to hold something in her hand, this could be replaced by an object of the buyers choice or nothing, in the process of losing her mystery item she also lost her thumb. No other missing pieces, cracks, or any damage to the figure itself. Some slight bronzing wear as is usual. The base has some wear to the marbling- which I believe was hand applied. This could be left as is, the wear is understandable, or restored / repainted. On the back the 3 “vines” or “branches” which hold the lights are attached on the base but also a bracket which screws into our maidens back. The hole for its screw is a little stripped, but it holds just fine when not being moved about. This could be just glued in with something like locktite or completely rethreaded- or, do what I did and leave it as-is as it is holding & stable when not jostled about. The wooden base also has a crack by the title plate. This too appears stable, but could also be glued. Thank you for your consideration, I appreciate your time. Reasonable offers always appreciated.
