Description: the vesta when I purchased this about 30 years ago, i was told that this form this early composed of aluminum was extremely rare. it has surface wear commensurate with its age and being used but i can't find anything qualatatively wrong with it. the raised word «stamps» is really charming and the edge mimics the form of a bound book. on the reverse, it is engraved «a.g.r.». the edge of the front plate has a nice extra, subtle, wave pattern on it. has some sort of maker's mark on it, but i cannot even begin hazard a guess what marking that is. the oval on the back of the stamp recess is for being able to push the stamps out from the back to make them accessible. the edge of the vesta is formed in the shape of a book binding. the aluminum has a nice patina on it. i am leaving cleaning or polishing to the buyer, but my recommendation is to leave it as is. marker's and/or other marks yes, but i can't even begin to guess what it might be.
