This is a quilt composed of many diamond shaped squares of multicolored silk fabric. Quilt has an 8 inch burgundy border in velvet. Quilt is tacked with many tiny red bows. Backing is red cotton and may be a more recent addition. Quilt is 62" by 64" Quilt has been owned by this family since it was made in Michigan area at least 3 generations ago. Current owner is downsizing as she retires. Condition of this quilt is good. I did see that one of the ends of a silk diamond needs to be secured. I see lots of tiny stitches but back may have been machine stitched. I think it may be a more recent enhancement. Quilt is clean and without odors. I do note some of the velvet shows wear but find no holes or tears. Even with condition issues quilt displays well. Family is downsizing and is unable to keep artifacts of several generations .
