Title: Andrea Gennari 1984 - 1994Interviewed by: Gianni PozziPrinter/Publisher: Grafiche Borgo (Sansepolcro, 1995)ISBN: None found Paperback book WITH dust jacket Pages: 86Just over 9 inches tall by about 6.75 inches wide Please see above for full description of condition and photos. Sold as is. The first part of the book is an interview (conversation) of Andrea Gennari by Gianni Pozzi. This appears, in Italian, from pages 5 through 14, and, in English, from pages 15 through 24. The remainder of the book is almost totally devoted to plates (the great majority in color) of Gennari's work. The captions are in Italian and measurements are in cms (metric). At the very back are a couple of pages listing Gennari's activities and exhibitions during the decade in question, as well as a related bibliography. Andrea Gennari was born in Florence in 1952. He studied the l'Accademia di Belle Arti di Firence. Starting in 1976, he held the chair of "Artistic Anatomy" at the Academy. Gennari died in 2011. In 2013, an exhibition of his work was curated by architect Paolo Fiori. The exhibition explored the evolution of Gennari's style. The works in the book I am selling (painted in the 1980s and 1990s) show his love of nature and color, as well as his devotion to scenes of everyday life. After 2000, perhaps as a result of the artist's travels to the United States, Gennari even further emphasized his Realism in a manner that evoked the American artist Edward Hopper. (Note: The above synopsis is derived from a 2013 article in the online journal Museology Reviews, written by Chiaro Lupo (of the University of Florence).
