Description: Watchmakers Dream...comes with NOS, balance staff, whichnneeds replacement, # 19, of a run of 70. Watch is not civil war, made in nov.1860, there is backlash about civil war watches. Please do your history, case was produced in American Case company, by Robbins&Appleton, which was in business for one year. Movement is not Appleton Tracy, or any other than American Watch Co, which Royal Robbins became a founder of Waltham. Take the challenge, and look for this eagle stamp on any case, don't be surprised if you don't find one. Don't be fooled by thinking goldR&A cases are worth more, of which most are English, worth the price of scrap, because they are plentiful. This beautiful silver case is very special because it was made in America's R&A case shop, see pic. There's not many existing models of 1859kw in existence, and there are none that are known, with this eagle stamp, which may have been made for an elite person. As soon as this watch was found, right away a certain individual had to defend his, which is a example of the same run, however it has an R&A gold case, made in England, and the other was Appleton Tracy. I really don't care if it sells or not, it's actually a museum item, I got it for FREE. LOOK around for eagle stamp, and don't contact me until you have found one. Take your gold R&A case and scrap it. These models don't belong in English cases. Never the less, the average watchmaker who has worked his whole life doesn't even own a watch like this one.
