Other: Wilson view of the esplanade at Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland. There are many variations of this view taken by Wilson & Co over the years. Few show the two gentlemen standing on the roof at the bottom left corner. George Washington Wilson (1823-1893) of Aberdeen was one of the most prolific photographers in Scotland and England at this time. His views of the Scottish and English countryside and European ruins are second to none. Over 40,000 glass plate negatives produced by G.W.
