Description: This is a rare autographed June 3rd, 1969 "Evergreen Showcard" program (playbill) from the opening week of the Original Off-Broadway production of the MARIA IRENE FORNES and AL CARMINES musical "PROMENADE" at the new Promenade Theatre in New York City. (The production premiered on April 9th, 1965 at the Judson Poets' Theatre in New York City where it played three weekends. This production opened June 4th, 1969 and closed January 17th, 1970 after 259 performances.) ..... The ensemble cast included MARGOT ALBERT, MARC ALLEN III, SHANNON BOLIN, MICHAEL DAVIS, PIERRE EPSTEIN, EDMUND GAYNES, GEORGE S. IRVING, MADELINE KAHN, GLENN KEZER, TY McCONNELL, ART OSTRIN, ALICE PLAYTEN, GILBERT PRICE, FLORENCE TARLOW and CARRIE WILSON ..... Side note: When the show opened on June 4th, 1969, the role of "Servant" was played by MADELINE KAHN, who left the production after only two weeks due to illness ..... The title page was signed by composer AL CARMINES (inscribed, "Best wishes") and cast member GILBERT PRICE and will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity ..... CONDITION: With the exception of a light vertical crease and slight discoloration, this rare playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
