Description: Wise Oak Design Piston Ring Squaring Tool use this piston ring squaring tool to accurately insert a piston ring into a cylinder bore for measuring piston ring gap during the process of rebuilding an engine. If you're gapping your rings, this tool will make the job much easier! This tool is compatible with cylinder bores from a diameter of 1.98" to 5.02" (50.3 mm to 127.5 mm). To use the tool, first loosen each of the 3 thumbscrews. Insert each of the 3 pegs into the cylinder until the body of the tool rests flat on the top of the engine block, centered in the cylinder. Slide the pegs to the outer edge of the cylinder and tighten the thumbscrews. The tool is now ready to square a piston ring- insert the piston ring and use the 3 pegs to press the ring into the bore until the body of the tool is in contact with the top of the cylinder. The piston ring is now square and ready for end gap measurement. The plastic construction of this tool will not scratch engine blocks made of iron, aluminum, or any other common material. The proportions of this tool are beefy, and it can take a lifetime of abuse. This tool is designed and manufactured in the USA and quality tested in-house.
