As the series premieres, it's the Lockharts' tenth anniversary year, and finds the couple planning their summer vacation. Mr. Lockhart wants to go fishing again. Mrs. Lockhart wants a romantic, 50-day, seven-country tour of Europe. Mrs. Lockhart, quite predictably, prevails. Mr. Lockhart resigns himself to being dragged all over Europe for fifty days and Mrs. Lockhart envisions a romantic, adventurous holiday. The fifteen-minute format is typical for the transcribed programming of the era: musical fill for announcements and sponsor messages, eleven to twelve minutes of script and musical fill at the close. The scripts are clever, well paced, filled with gentle humor, and highly reflective of the dynamics of a 'typical American Mr. and Mrs.' of the era.
