Description: Up for sale, a 1988 Fender Stratocaster ‘72 vintage reissue model ST72-55 in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. Crafted during the golden age of “Made in Japan” production at the Fujigen factory, this Stratocaster was marketed exclusively to the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside its country of origin. This particular ST72-55 has been upgraded with a set of Fender Tex-Mex single coil pickups. Tonewoods include an ash body and a one-piece maple neck, and this Strat weighs 9lbs 1oz. The trio of Tex-Mex Alnico V pickups are slightly overwound, particularly the bridge pickup, resulting in increased output, sparkling highs, and notably full, warm tones that are ideal for Texas-style grit and huge, airy cleans. This ST72-55 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
