This "time capsule" bicycle has been fully inspected by our specialty bike shop. This hardly-ridden bike has all of it's original components down to the tires and probably even some of the original air in the inner tubes. Ready to be the centerpiece of your collection. Please review all detailed pictures to assess cosmetic condition. This is a Japanese-made Schwinn (made by Panasonic). The Super Sport for 1981 featured front and rear racks as shown. These are regarded to be some of the highest quality lugged steel frame road bikes ever produced. Condition-wise, it shines and shows like new but with some very minor blemishes from years of storage. It is probably safe to say that this is probably one of the best preserved examples of this particular bike in existence. Please review all detailed pictures to assess condition. Frame-size measurements:This was the largest size offered of this model. Per the 1981 Schwinn catalog, it is a 25" frame model. 25.5" (from the center of the crank to top tube - measured along the seat tube) 25" (center-to-center) 23" (top tube center-to-center) 34.5" (top tube stand over height) Based on the above geometry, the bike would be ideal for taller cyclists 6'0" - 6'6" in height. Please use the above measurements to assess your fitment needs and preferences. I'd recommend new tires, tubes and a thorough lube before using the bike extensively since these components are over 40 years old.
