Description: Up for auction is a beautiful cover, post marked 1947, from the internment camp in Karaoulas, Cyprus to Budapest Hungary. Sender is Moishe Weisand. In excellent condition. Priced to sell. Great stamps and cancels. Cyprus had about a dozen internment camps from 1939-1948 which held thousands of Jews fleeing Nazi Germany and seeking refuge in Palestine. They were usually intercepted at sea by the British and interned. This is a classic piece of Judaica and holocaust related postal history, unusual and scarce item.
