Description: 1930s Women's Woven Straw HAT, Whimsical Velvet Flowers, JACCARD, Neiman Marcus Click images to enlarge Description VINTAGE WOVEN HAT Charming vintage 1930s woven straw hat measuring about 9" wide and about 19" around the inside grosgrain ribbon band. Designed with an unusual rolled brim, three original combs, and sturdy grosgrain ribbons for tying a flirty bow to the neck side, it bears the original NEIMAN MARCUS CO. label, made by JACCARD HATS, Paris and New York. The top is decorated with a whimsical bunch of velvet, ruffled edge flowers in a little bunch that is sewn onto the crown top - accented by a criss-cross of double grosgrain ribbon that threads through the hat brim - both the ribbon and velvet floral decoration are original to the design. Hat is intended to wear canted to the head side or riding the back of the head in the Victorian style. Condition is lovely with no cracks, breaks, holes, discoloration, fading, smells, staining or damage - very minor dust cased within some of the flower petals and ribbon - I've had it displayed on a hat stand for about forty years.
