1923 W580 Boxing *SIAM ISSUE* Jack Johnson PSA 4 VG-EX + Full Set 30 ULTRA RARE!

Description: Here is your chance to grab an ultra rare set of 30 boxing cards featuring legendary Hall of Famer Jack Johnson and many other boxing stars of the era including Hall of Famers Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney and many others! The set was issued around 1923 in parallel (or shortly after) the American w580 set and includes 30 total cards. This particular set is believed to have been printed in Siam (now Thailand) and is vastly more rare than the American version. There are a few characteristics that differentiate the Siam version from the American W580s. The Siams have thicker cardstock, are machine cut instead of hand cut and have a glossy front finish. Unfortunately, PSA does not differentiate between the issues when it grades the cards but advanced collectors can rather easily tell the difference. Overall the set is clean, consistent and presents very well. On average I would describe the condition as VG to EX with a couple a bit lower and a few pushing higher grades. The backs are fairly clean and unmarked although the Carpentier is chipped around the edges. The Jack Johnson card has been professionally graded as PSA 4 VG-EX so you can trust its quality and authenticity. I would say that card is a fairly good representation of the others. Please see scans. Rarity-wise, it's uncommon to ever see the Siam W580s for sale. When they pop up, usually as singles, they often sell for a siginficant premium to the regular issue. Personally, I have never seen a full set sell at once so here is a very rare opportunity to grab a major rarity! For full disclosure, there is no "known" checklist for this Siam issue but I believe it's complete at 30 cards.
