Description: Here on offer an antique shoe horn with a Chester hallmarked ornate silver handle, crafted by Joseph & Richard Griffin in 1913. The sturdy shaft is made from steel and marked STEEL, near the handle and is in excellent condition. Stamped on the handle between the raised scroll work is a clear set of English silver hallmarks, the Lion Passant for English silver (925), a sword between three wheatsheaves for the assay office of Chester and the date letter “N” for the year 1913. It also shows the makers mark, that reads as “J & R G”, which relates to the English maker: J & R Griffin (Joseph & Richard Griffin) This shoe horn is truly a fine quality piece that is in excellent condition. It measures 6.4” (16.3cm) long and weighs 36g. Please see my pictures for the details of the condition, which complement this description.
