Covers and spine have age-related wear and slight discoloration. Tears along the top and bottom edges of the spine. Spine also has Dewey Decimal information written on a sticker. Ex-library from the Union Philosophical Society of Dickinson College, with the library's information included on the front inside cover. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are in good condition and pages have good support throughout the entire volume. Edges of pages have age-related wear and toning. Edward Thomson was an American Bishop for the Methodist Episcopal Church. He initially studied medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, but shortly after his licensure, he received the position of junior preacher. He continued to move through preaching positions before becoming the principal of the Norfolk Seminary. He was elected to the Episcopacy in 1864, where he continued to work until his death.
